From the 22nd to the 27th, a private exhibition of photographer Kim Kyung-ran’s 『Cheongsando Stonewall” will be held at the Hangaram Design Museum of the Seoul Arts Center.
In December last year, Kim published his first photo book ‘Cheongsan Island Stonewall’, which contains moments of Cheongsan Island stonewall, and this is his first personal photo exhibition as a photographer.
From the artist’s first visit to Cheongsan Island in May 2018 to the release of a photo book, the exhibition provides the audience with a friendly story of the stone walls that permeate the lives of the residents of Cheongsan Island with the warm gaze of the artist. Stonewall photographs go beyond simple visual records and capture the artist’s comfortable emotions and happy memories, allowing him to feel the lingering effects of Cheongsando.
Rather than expressing it with the colorful scenery or photography technology of Cheongsan-do, photos of Cheongsan-do stone walls that seem a little trivial but may have been taken in slow stride attract attention.
Writer Kim Kyung-ran said, `I want to share with many people the happiness I gained from taking pictures of stone walls through this exhibition”I want to express my intention for the exhibition and express my warm comfort to people through the beautiful nature of Cheongsan Island and the old stories contained in the stone walls.”.”
