Namibia’s Fresh Dawn: An Opinion

Namibia should be a nation where every Namibian, regardless of their background, has equal access to education, health care services, land, nutrition, potable water, well-maintained roads, adequate infrastructure, and suitable housing.

We need to create a new Namibia that is rid of corruption, self-enrichment, crime, passion killings, and abuse.

It is crucial to develop employment prospects across various industries and government departments.

The education department needs to maintain a registry of certified but jobless educators within their area. Doing so will allow the department to swiftly select suitable applicants from this list when positions become available in fields where these instructors are trained.

The education department needs to ensure that class sizes do not exceed 30 students. It is crucial to prevent classrooms from becoming overcrowded.

All schools must have qualified teachers to cater for life skills and psychosocial support.

Each educational institution needs to have dedicated physical education and arts instructors overseeing sports activities. Consequently, all schools should possess an athletic field.

Graduates from the College of Arts must be employed as art teachers in schools, teaching dancing, painting, drawing, drama, and singing.

Every school needs to have an ICT instructor. Consequently, each school should possess a computer lab equipped with a minimum of ten machines for incorporating technological advancements into teaching methods. These graduates from computer classes may subsequently find employment opportunities.

Every school needs a handyman to handle small repair tasks. This initiative would provide employment prospects for alumni from vocational training centers, the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology, among others.

Every school needs to possess both a library and a dedicated librarian to foster a love for reading among students right from their early years.

Institutions offering vocational courses must have bakers, cooks, hairstylists, manicurists, fashion designers, certified mechanics, and farmers on their teaching staff to impart practical skills effectively.

Every school needs to possess a clinic/first aid room equipped with essential first aid supplies, along with having certified nurses or community health workers on staff.

Every school needs to offer pre-primary classes to equip students with fundamental abilities and ready them for Grade 1. It is essential to hire qualified pre-primary educators.

Every school must have a garden producing food to complement the school-feeding programme. Graduates from agricultural institutions, as well as community members could be employed.

All schools must have access to Wi-Fi and network signals, clean water and flushing toilets.

Every educational institution requires school secretaries to handle administrative tasks.

Namibian talents shine particularly in sports, and it’s essential to set up a sporting institution designed for students from grade 4 through grade 12.

These gifted students might get specialized coaching in their chosen sports. They would be picked out and recognized through house competitions, cluster games, and regional athletic meets, along with various other sporting events, before being suggested for admission to this academy.

The academy needs to include a hostel, with all students required to reside there.

A clinic, staff housing units, an ambulance, a hostel, gardens, a swimming pool, along with all necessary sports facilities and amenities for the training and care of athletes should be provided.

The new job openings will include roles such as sports discipline instructors and trainers for educators, along with positions for nurses, physicians, janitors, housemother supervisors, chefs, landscapers, emergency vehicle operators, maintenance personnel, administrative assistants, transit drivers, and community support professionals.

If Namibians unite as a country and collaborate irrespective of their racial background, socioeconomic status, and educational attainment, it would fulfill an aspiration.

Finally, construct a school in each region annually.

A new Namibia awaits.
