Prince Eze Madumere, who previously served as the Deputy Governor of Imo state, has underscored the significance of nurturing young people and providing them with guidance for Nigeria’s advancement in social and economic spheres.
At the 4th edition of the Prof. Uzoma Foundation For Justice and Equity Lecture Series, Madumere spoke in favor of including young people in government decisions and promoting the development of youth skill sets.
He highlighted the importance of educational reforms, proposing that Nigerian schools incorporate teaching coding, AI, robotics, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking alongside theoretical subjects.
Madumere also stressed the significance of skills over certifications, underscoring that vocational and technical education is crucial for the growth and development of young people.
The ex-Deputy Governor highlighted that nurturing young people is not only an economic commitment but also a ethical duty, encouraging the establishment of financial frameworks suitable for youths via subsidies, small loans, and collaborative ventures between government and private sector.

He likewise highlighted the importance of including young people in decision-making entities like cabinets and assemblies.
Madumere recognized the difficulties confronting Nigerian youth, such as joblessness and emigration of talent, while also honoring their achievements in fields like tech, art, and commerce.
He encouraged young Nigerians to act, acquire knowledge, and spearhead the desired transformation, vowing to back initiatives led by the youth.
