On April 30, the Lahore Arts Council at Alhamra kicked off a two-day painting workshop entitled “How to Prepare a Canvas.”
The workshop was designed to nurture both basic and advanced artistic abilities amongst budding painters. Held at the Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts, it attracted an impressive number of young art lovers who were keen on refining their techniques and delving into fresh viewpoints within visual arts.
The esteemed artist and workshop facilitator Mian Athar captivated attendees as he delved into various artistic methods, innovative thinking patterns, visual scrutiny, and shifting worldwide movements in painting. Through his presentation, participants gained both conceptual understanding and hands-on advice, encouraging budding artists to approach art from a wider, more inventive perspective.
The Executive Director of the Lahore Arts Council, Syed Touqeer Haider Kazmi, praised the younger generation, saying, “Our youth overflow with artistic promise and intellectual inquiry. Alhamra strongly believes in fostering this ability through an atmosphere that encourages inspiration and organization, allowing creative expression to thrive. Such workshops form a key component of our broader initiative to enhance art education and supply the upcoming cohort with the means necessary to articulate their distinctive perspectives.”
The workshop saw active engagement from numerous young participants who dove into the educational process. Covering everything from brushwork methods to creative ideation, the attendees are acquiring essential knowledge that will influence their artistic paths.
Through regular organization of these enlightening programs, the Lahore Arts Council demonstrates its commitment to advancing art education and nurturing a climate of creativity and innovation.
