People who are curious can explore anonymous stories, feelings, and sincere messages at “Postcard From A Stranger – Message Untold,” taking place at MMAD BOX by Happening on the second floor of Seacon Square along Srinakarin Road, continuing up till June 3rd.
This pioneering collective exhibit showcases 10 distinct artists who express their deepest emotions and ideas using their individual creative methods. The participating artists are Chubbynida, Dewy Art, Her., Lychee.Chai, Manasawii, Ole, Palim, Pi-near, Tent Katchakul, and White Hat Since 2013.
This continues the “Postcard From A Stranger” initiative by Happening, which initially occurred at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in 2021. The project established a platform where people could pen down sincere messages, encouraging words, or positive reflections onto postcards intended for random strangers.
With overwhelmingly positive feedback, the project was organised multiple times, drawing a vast number of participants who eagerly read and wrote messages for strangers. However, this is the first time it has been transformed into a group exhibition where artists create entirely new works and viewers are invited to participate in an even more immersive and interactive experience.
On showcase are the original works of all 10 artists and a collection of postcards featuring deeply personal, previously unspoken thoughts from individuals across various professions.
In a designated creative space, guests have the opportunity to compose and adorn their personal postcards before placing them on the exhibition’s messaging wall. As an exchange, they may choose any other visitor’s postcard to bring back with them. Additionally, a complimentary postage service is provided for individuals who wish to dispatch a postcard to a loved one.
There is a series of talk with artists on select weekends throughout the exhibition period. They will be sharing insights about their artwork and reveal the emotions they have never shared before. Also, a curated selection of postcards from various artists is available for purchase.
