Foreign Journalists Bewitched by the Magic of Peking Opera at Chaoyang Cultural Center

On April 29, Beijing hosted a gathering for international reporters at the Chaoyang Peking Opera Cultural & Arts Centre where they were treated to an enthralling display of Peking Opera—an integral part of Chinese cultural heritage.

As part of an effort to foster mutual understanding and appreciation between China and the international community, this particular event was organized as a component of a cultural exchange program.

Reporters hailing from Asia, Latin America, Eurasia, Arab regions, and the Caribbean packed the historically significant location, enthusiastically watching the mix of vibrant outfits, dynamic face paint, intricate martial arts sequences, and robust singing that characterize Peking Opera.

Numerous reporters showed great respect for the art form that has existed for hundreds of years.

“Discovering the cultural legacy of Peking Opera was delightful. I truly enjoyed their attire and how they authentically convey stories through movement and gestures,” stated Kisho Kumari, a Malaysian journalist.
