On Saturday, the Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) joined forces with Roses of Humanity to launch an art exhibit at the Ustad Allah Bux Gallery. Featuring an elaborate setup comprising 15,000 handmade blooms, this poignant collection conveys messages of harmony, camaraderie, and shared kindness. Conceived by artist Nuria Rafiq Iqbal, the display has garnered significant praise both publicly and online due to its innovative approach and profound impact. Under the curation of Ameera Haroon and assistance from Sehar Bashir, the show encourages introspection and compassionate understanding via artistic mediums.
Throughout all these endeavors, Alhamra stands out not just as a space but also as a critical voice within Pakistan’s culture—a hub fostering innovation and providing avenues for empathetic storytelling. Through their partnership in presenting the Roses of Humanity exhibition, they reaffirm their dedication to promoting impactful artworks aligned closely with societal sentiments. Funds raised during the event will go towards aiding Palestinian children, highlighting how art can serve healing purposes and bring about positive change. In his remarks, Chairman Alhamra Razi Ahmed commended participating artists saying: “At Alhamra we celebrate young talents who dare to express themselves creatively.”
The exhibition serves not merely as a showcase but also as evidence of Alhamra’s ongoing commitment to using art as a tool for honor, empathy, and transformation. As stated by the Executive Director of Alhamra, Touqeer Haider Kazmi, “This initiative merits sincere appreciation; it encourages us to foster a community characterized by affection, acceptance, and fortitude.” He emphasized that through welcoming projects advocating harmony, unity, and humane principles, Alhamra fulfills its purpose as a refuge for those who aim to mend, unite, and motivate others. This exhibit will be open at the Alhamra Art Center until May 18.
