School of Life Projects Shine at Beijing Science Competition

) has highlighted the outstanding accomplishments of students from the
STEM Club
– an essential component of the School of Life initiative within
Dubai Lifestyle Enhancement Plan
– at the 44th
Beijing Young Innovators Creation Contest
(BYSCC).

The participants secured three silver medals and ranked second overall at Asia’s premier youth innovation competition.

The results reflect

‘ dedication to fostering the next generation’s potential and enhancing their skills, all while strengthening the emirate’s role as a worldwide beacon for culture, a cradle for innovation, and a bustling nexus for talent.

This achievement came after an intense eight-week training program at Al Twar Public Library, conducted through the Impact Track, which is one of the main educational tracks within the system.
STEM Club
Led by experienced mentors from Baseet, students created groundbreaking, research-based technological projects that were eligible for global competitions.

The winning entries featured three innovative solutions that use artificial intelligence (AI) to tackle urgent environmental and societal challenges.

Under the mentorship of Eng Mohamed Amarneh, students Adam Serhan, Sultan Ahmed Almarzooqi, Mohammed Ahmed Al Mansoori, and Zynah Mansoor submitted the ‘AI-Powered UAV System for Rapid Victim Detection in Natural Disasters,’ which uses advanced AI to locate victims quickly and accurately during emergencies, thereby accelerating response efforts.

In the meantime, under the supervision of Eng Anas Habboub, participants Saif Omar, Sarah Ali Majdalawi, Mohamed Hisham, Mohamed Salah, and Mohamed Yousef developed an ‘Advanced Irrigation and Water Purification System for Sustainable Precision Farming.’ This system aims to enhance water efficiency by tracking soil hydration levels and cleaning water with advanced techniques.

The third project, the ‘AI-powered Smart Waste Sorting Bin for Sustainable Waste Management,’ was made by Matteo Angelo Coo Tolentino, Aarav Agarwal, Amin Wahby, Joumanah Al Aidarous, Hayam Khalfan, and Alya Saif Ahmed Saeed under Eng Reem Siripl and Eng Nael Elashi. It automatically sorts waste to support efficient recycling and foster sustainable community practices.

The Impact Track, which combines theoretical learning with hands-on experience, equips young innovators to represent the UAE on international platforms.”

The UAE delegation to BYSCC 2025 included students from the American School of Creative Science, the International School of Choueifat, and Hemaya Schools.
