Toronto Pearson in Lockdown: Police Swarm the Area

Certain sections of Toronto Pearson International Airport have been placed under lockdown following a shooting incident, as law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel flooded the scene.

Terminal 1 Departures at the main airport has been shut down following a ‘police-related shooting,’ as confirmed by the province’s Special Investigations Unit.

Subsequently, they verified that an adult male had been shot, noting that this was a standalone event with no known risks to the community.

Travelers and individuals at the airport say they heard sounds resembling gunshots, according to reports.

He heard ‘loud, cracking sounds’ from afar as he was retrieving his suitcase, drawing the notice of a security officer.

Photos circulating on social media depict vehicles queued up at the entrance leading to the departures zone, encircled by numerous police automobiles around the airport premises.


Individuals were spotted leaving their Uber vehicles behind, departing the terminal carrying their baggage.
